Just a few things..

I'm in the middle of switching my blog over to another site where it will be a bit easier for me to make posts. As such, order status will not be updated on this page. Please check your etsy to see if your order has been shipped. For those who I have contacted, your orders will be going out as planned within the next couple of days. There are only a few of you left who I have to ship out orders to, so thank you all for your patience as I make my way through each order. I really appreciate it.

On another note, please note that when ordering from me (for new and repeat customers), no refunds mean NO REFUNDS. I can't say this enough. It's stated in my shop, as well as in the shop announcement. It is also stated that I've been backlogged (therefore there is a delay). By purchasing from my shop, you are agreeing to these terms. Sure, it may be easy for you to say you want a refund due to the amount of time it is taking me to complete your order, but please try to look at it from my perspective. There's only so much I can do in a day, and whatever is left over from that day, is carried onto the next.

There have been A LOT of things that I've had to make recently (photos coming soon), which all take up a great majority of my time. For the people who know me personally, and for the people who have ordered wholesale from me, they can all vouch for me that I spend a great majority of my day working on everything, and sometimes even when I want to get things out earlier, my hands are so fatigued from the amount of work that I've already been doing, that they can't work any faster. I literally have permanent scars on my index and ring finger now (on my right hand) from the yarn, from trying to get out orders fast enough.

That being said, if your order hasn't been marked "shipped" as of yet on etsy, it doesn't mean I haven't been working on them. It's easy to ask for a refund (although I will reply to your answer with a simple, "no" for reasons mentioned earlier), but take into consideration that I've already spent time working on your order for you. That time could have been spent working on other people's orders (who have been just as patient as you, if not MORE), and that time could have been spent doing other important things like studying, or working a real job...

I will no longer tolerate the excuse "you can give what you were making me to someone else"... A) It's not guaranteed that someone else ordered the same item as you; B) I've already spent a lot of my time working on this (these) for you, which took time away from someone else's order, as well as a great majority of my time (my hands cry and I become irritated if I see messages similar to that).

I know I can't please everyone, but I still try to do my best with what I can, and with the time I have. I too, have to eat, and sleep. And I can tell you now, the past few weeks, I haven't done much of either. During the last few weeks I've been up around 6am or 7am in the morning, working on orders until 3am the following day. If you tell me I'm not working fast enough, or that the wait time is unacceptable... may I point you in the direction to my shop announcement where it says I've been backlogged. And if you're a previous customer, you should know this already.

On another note: "birthdays" are not an excuse to request a refund.
The only customer's I'll believe who need their order as a birthday gift, are those who have contacted me when they've made their purchase. To tell me you needed your order as a birthday present, after becoming impatient with your order is unacceptable. For the most part, people do contact me either before placing their order, or they leave me a message upon checkout, but there are some people, who do not leave me any such message, and to those people, I cannot read your mind. So a message is greatly appreciated.

I know I too, can be sending you all messages to let you know the status of your order, and I'm trying my best to do that (at least to confirm when your order has gone out, or to let you know that I'm still working on your order), but because I already spend so much of my time working on orders to begin with, normally once I've finished (for the day), and once I no longer have the energy to stay awake, I just pass out in my bed from exhaustion, to get what little sleep I can before starting again the following day -- hence the lack of updates that you've been seeing on this blog lately. (Again, those who know me personally, as well as my friends in Korea and Australia, can vouch for me on this one, especially since I'm awake during "normal hours" in both timezones! -- that's a 13-15hr time difference!).

Lastly, on some occasions, I'm nice enough to send orders out via express-post because I know how important orders are when they are needed by a certain deadline. Although I cannot do this all the time (since I don't always have the money to do so, and since express mail is expensive depending on where you live in the world), I have sent out orders via express mail on some occasions. I work hard on each and every order (and I take photos of everything before they go out). If I could, I'd be making some of these toys for myself to keep, but I never have time to do that for myself since I'm always busy with the current orders that I have.

Also, I currently don't actively promote my shop because I'm still catching up with orders. Once I'm fully caught up with my individual orders (I think there are only 8 left to work on (but some of those orders are for more than one item)), I'll be working on the second batch of my wholesale order, as well as an additional order for Hootsuite.

With all that said, I'm really sorry if I sound bitter, and I understand not everyone will agree with what I have to say, and that's perfectly fine. But I felt like it needed to be said, so I took some time out of my day to write this. After I have lunch, I'll be getting back to work. Thanks to DST, I've lost an hour of work haha T_______T but I'll catch up somehow.

Again, I'll be contacting those of you who are still waiting for your order to confirm that it has been shipped. Thank you to those of you who are patient and who continue to be patient. I know that it might seem like I'm neglecting your orders since you've been waiting a long time, but I've been working hard on them to get them out to you, and to make sure that you'll love what you receive. I always put in a ton of effort to make sure everything is of great quality, and since you've waited for a long time, I want to make sure what I send out meets those standards.

Sorry about this long winded entry... it's been a while.

Lastly, it's my birthday next Saturday (YAY ME) but I'm pretty sure I'll be working on orders during that day too...
Who says I'm not working hard? hah! T___T

Good morning folks!
Sorry for the lack of updates. I know it's been a while since I last updated this page.
Orders have been shipping out. The ones that I've mentioned in my previous post have gone out already.
The second list of orders have also been shipped (although a few days late from their original shipping date as posted on my Etsy page, since I wasn't able to get out to the post office until later that week), but you should be receiving those soon!

In other news, my goal for this week is to finish up one order per day and have those shipped out by Sunday. We'll see how that goes. I've still got to get more work done for my wholesale order as well, along with one of my other larger individual orders that I'd love to get out by the end of this week as well *crossing my fingers that I'll be able to do so*.

Last Friday was a super productive day for me. I meet up with a good friend of mine and we had a "work" day together. He was working hard on his art pieces, and I managed to get through quite a bit of Etsy orders that day as well (when I can get through 4 orders in a day, I consider that a pretty productive day!).

I'll try to update this space more frequently, although I haven't been that successful at doing that recently! But I'll try to keep things updated on here at least every week!

Again, order status is updated on Etsy first, followed by an update on here. Thanks for being so patient with your orders. Hopefully by the end of this month I'll be fully caught up on EVERYTHING! ^_______^

Okay, finally, time to update! So I just finished with exams which means that I have more time to work on orders. I've already contacted some of you already to let you know your orders will be shipping out this week (since I've been really busy over the holidays and studying for finals).

Now that I have more free time on my hands, I should be able to finish the remaining orders by the end of next week. Therefore, this week and next week, you can expect that a great majority of orders will be shipping out! So terribly sorry for the wait time on some of your orders, but I'll be working hard to get them all out this week and next week. I have about 10 or so orders left to work on. Order status has (finally) been updated on here, but I always update on Etsy first.

I hope you've all had a great weekend! My week has been pretty hectic due to studying for exams but I'm happy that's over with. Staying up from 5am until 2am studying everyday was completely exhausting! But I think it went well. I finally caught up on some needed rest and plan on using the rest of the day to work!

Happy New Year (well almost) to everyone! It's been a pretty crazy year, and yeah, I'm still catching up! But thank you to everyone who have been super supportive and patient! I can't tell you enough how much I really appreciate it. I've been working hard on getting orders finished. There are still quite a bit that I need to ship out, and I apologize for the delay T____T I'm heading out to the post office to ship some out today, and more will go out next week. I've got a final coming up which I have yet to study for (my exam is on January 8 for those of you who are curious, which is REALLY SOON! So I really need to study for that. BUT after that exam, I'll have a lot more free time to work on these orders (while I job search haha).

ANYWAYS, some more exciting news!
I woke up to an awesome tweet, which was posted by Hootsuite. Photos of the owls that I had made for them is now posted on their blog!

Some of these photos you've probably seen before if you had read my previous blogpost over here. But there are some additional photos of the owlys traveling around the world, along with other Hootsuite fanart made by many other people! So definitely check it out~!

Again, I haven't updated the order status on this blog yet (I will on the weekend however). But the packages that I have shipped out have been marked shipped on Etsy already, so do check there. There are still a lot that I need to get out, but the holidays have been super busy, and I've been dealing with a bunch of weird allergies this week. First on my hands, and now around my eyes. It's SUPER annoying T_____T! Anyways, I need to finish off a couple of owls and a dog so that I can ship them out today.

I just wanted to quickly wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I hope you're all having a great day today! Is anyone going out on boxing day??? haha! I still have a ton of work left to do T___T so I'll do my best to get out more orders out to you within the next week! I had an awesome opportunity to meet two of my Toronto customers the other day, which was really great! It was a bit of a hectic day that day, since the night before, the unthinkable happened... I had run out of yarn! I had stayed up all night to finish as much as I could, and then headed out early in the morning to quickly buy the extra yarn that I needed to finish an order for a giant and small mushroom bear! I ended up showing up to our meeting location late (since I was trying to finish making 3 bears that day), but thankfully both people were still there. It was really great meeting them and being able to give them the stuff they had bought ^___^. Afterwards I headed back out to do some last minute christmas shopping for my family~! I had no sleep that day, but happily passed out on my bed after coming home and eating dinner~

I hope that everyone will have a wonderful christmas and enjoy the rest of their holiday! I'll be working on orders (like usual starting again this afternoon) as well as studying for my finals. Yes, while most people had theirs before the holidays, mine happens to be in January =___=. Good news is, I'm going in with a really good mark! HAHA, lets hope I give myself enough time to study so that I can do just as well on the exam!

Orders that I've shipped have already been marked on Etsy. I have not updated order status on this blog yet, as things have been extremely hectic around here since it is the holidays, but I'll update that as soon as I can.

I really wanted to get all of these out before Christmas, but it's super difficult (this year) considering the amount of orders that I have, as well as how long each one takes me to make (my mom already complains that I do not sleep, even though I did get my 8 hours of sleep in yesterday.... not yet today however). It didn't help that I had very little time last week to work on these considering I was in the court house the entire week for jury selection, as well as a final paper to write for school.

This whole week I'm dedicating a great majority of my time to finishing up these orders as quickly as possible which means, no sleep for me! lol. But anyways, the people I've done wholesale orders with are complete angels. I've been busy finishing up one of my wholesale orders heading for Australia, so I'll have photos up later (along with the other photos that I keep promising to put up... they'll all be up later). The other person that I do wholesale with has given me a bit more time to work on her order as well, since she knows how much work I still have to do for my individual Etsy orders, and I honestly can't thank her enough.

Jury Selection

Just a really quick update.
Order updates will be slow this week on my blog because I've been summoned for jury selection here in Toronto. It is something we must attend. I originally thought it would be for just one day, but found out today that it's for the entire week. If selected to be on the jury, it means that I'll be in the courthouse for more than a week, and depending on how long the trial goes, it could be even longer.

Because of this, it's going to be a bit hard for me to get as many orders out this week as I would like to. Today I was there from 8:30am - 4:30pm, and for the rest of the week, I've got to be there from 9:30am - 4:30pm. I've also got a final paper to write which is due this weekend, and wholesale orders that I MUST ship out this week.

That being said, I still have individual orders to catch up on. I know I say this time and time again, but I really do appreciate how patient you've all been, and I'm really sorry for any inconvenience the delay in receiving your orders have caused. Please do know that I'm doing as much as I can to get these out as soon as possible to all of you.

I really want to be able to get all of them out before christmas, but some of you may receive yours after that date, due to the large volume of orders that I have received.

Unlike last year, when I didn't have school, and didn't have as many orders to work on, this year, the response on my characters have been quite overwhelming. I'm really happy that you've all liked them enough to purchase them, and so I'm working as hard as I can to get these out to you, even if it means little sleep.

I do ship out multiple orders each week, so if you haven't received yours yet, please expect that it will go out soon. I've been trying to ship everything out in the order that I've received the orders in, accommodating different deadlines when I can. There's only so much I can do in a day, and now because of jury selection and the possibility of jury duty, I'm having to re-arrange my schedule this week in order to finish all the work that I need to get done.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do send me a message on etsy. If you send me an email, please send it to oddlycuteyoomii@gmail.com, as it's hard for me to check my hotmail address (since it doesn't always work). Hootsuite Plush Owls: Behind the Scenes

So, I've finally finished my Hootsuite order!

It feels so good to have finally finished, although it has taken a lot longer than it should have (but that was because of all the other orders that I also had to work on at the exact same time... my fingers are definitely crying right now~). Anyways, I wanted to quickly share the photos that I've taken during this whole process. I've posted a few of them before, but I guess I'll repost those ones as well, for the purpose of this blog entry. This post will be a quick one, as I still have a bunch of other orders that I need to work on (which I'm trying to get out before Christmas), so for the most part this post will be pic heavy. My desk feels a whole lot emptier without those owls around. I kind of miss them already~!

Here's hoping for their safe flight to Vancouver! Can't wait to see photos of them once they're in Hootsuite's HQ hehe~

Getting 20 owls to fit in the box was quite challenging. I thought it would be impossible...hahaha, I don't think the little owls were looking forward to this part either~

Hey everyone, so I'm finally caught up in my school work, submitted my assignment, and currently catching up on orders. This week will be super busy as I will be trying to ship out two wholesale orders this week as well as some of your individual Etsy orders. Hopefully I can stay on task. It's going to be tough, but I'll do my best.

Order status is usually updated on Etsy first before I update it on here. If you're still waiting for your order, your continued patience is greatly appreciated. I do ship out as much as I can each week, so every week a couple of orders do get sent out.

I haven't had time to transfer photos from my camera yet, but once I get a chance to, I'll have more photos posted.

This is my study schedule for this week (Nov 15 - 22).
Please do not rush me this week with orders as I have a lot of work that I need to catch up on (in terms of school as well as etsy) since I had neglected my studies completely during the last week due to purely working on orders.

My mornings and part of the afternoon will be dedicated to catching up on readings for school. The rest of the afternoon into the evening will be dedicated to working on orders. Thank you for your continued patience. Again please do not rush me this week with orders. I know they are important, and it's important for me to get them out to you, but I really need to catch up on these readings and work on my assignment for class. I will post updates as they become available (concerning the status of some of your orders). As always, they will be mailed out asap once they've been completed, but my top priority this week is school.

Hey everyone! It's been such a busy week. Catching up on orders, homework, and writing my assignment for school. I feel so overwhelmed and drained. I spent my week working on orders and doing readings for school. I spent my saturday researching and writing up my assignment, submitting it at 5am, and falling asleep around 7am.

It's now sunday, and current and past orders are being worked on right now. I will probably not be online as much as before during this week because I will be extremely busy catching up on everyones orders so that I can ship them out. I also need to grab more supplies because I'm running out! T_____T

If you had messaged me on etsy last week regarding the whereabouts of your order, I most likely have replied back to your message already to let you know that I would be shipping them out this week. And I'm going to do my best to do so. There's really a lot to catch up on. I still need to ship out one of my wholesale orders as well. Actually 2. But they're almost finished.

For any new orders that do come in (although it is unlikely for the time being), I would really appreciate it if you let me know in advance whether you will be needing your order by a certain date. It's really hard to accommodate an order in a really short amount of time, when I have a lot of other customers who have been extremely patient with their orders, and I really do not want to make them wait any longer.

I know what it's like to wait and wait and wait for an order to arrive, and I know it can feel frustrating, and leave you wondering "is she really working on them? did she forget?"

I really am working on them. And no I did not forget. ^__^

As always, you can reach me via Etsy convo. If you are going to send me a message regarding your order, please do so through Etsy Conversation rather than Email. I don't check my hotmail as often because it gives me a lot of problems. So it's much more convenient for me to check my Etsy page to see if there are any messages.

I haven't had time to update the order status section of this website this week, but I will try to do so tomorrow, or when I get most of the orders out that I planned on getting out this week.

Since I have an assignment for school that is due by the end of the week, this week is going to be really busy for me, and so I will not have as much time as I need to finish orders to ship out this week. Quick reminder:
If you plan on ordering something for Christmas, please place your orders in early. With the amount of orders that I currently have left to complete, it will be very hard to fulfil christmas orders if they are received in December. So please try to place your orders in ahead of time (meaning during October and early November) so that I have time to work on them, since as most of you all know already, everything in my shop is currently made-to-order.

Another busy day

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today will be another busy day of studying and working on orders. I've actually made a list of everything that I have left to make, and posted it on my desk so that I can keep track of everything, and eventually cross things off the list once they are completed. Seeing the list itself really made me realize just how much work I have left to complete. I literally have around 100 things that I need to finish up in terms of orders (and that includes individual and wholesale orders combined), as well as one more chapter to read for class before being caught up (since I do not want to fall behind in that). I'm hoping that having a physical list right in front of me will help me to visualize the amount of work that I need to accomplish, so that I don't lose track of things. It also helps me determine the amount of time that I'll need to spend working on orders versus studying versus having a social life.

On a side note, I was able to see some of my friends over the weekend whom I haven't seen in the longest time. It was really great getting a chance to catch up with them while we had lunch. I hope I'll have more time later on to see them all again. But first things first...it's time to get back to work.

Again, if you feel that I'm taking long with your order, or if you just want an update about its status, please don't hesitate to contact me. Each one does take time to make, and so if you think that I've been taking too long with your order, please understand that there are other people as well who are patiently waiting for theirs too, and that I'm doing my best to work on them all at the same time so that I can get them all out to you.

NOTE: Because of the amount of orders that I have gotten (and I'm really thankful for all of them), please note that I'm not sure if I will take in any special requests for christmas orders this year. Last year I received many orders right before christmas, and although I am not flying off to another country this year for the holidays, I don't know if I will be able to handle a high amount of last minute orders. Please take into consideration that I'm currently backlogged by about a month, and while I am trying my best to get everything out in a timely manner (as humanly possible), creation and shipment of your order may get delayed.

Thanks again so much for your continued support and for being so patient with me as I work hard to complete everything. Quick Progress Report

So, all of these owls that I'm making for Hootsuite all have their wings and are awaiting their faces to be sewn on. I hope to have that completed by the end of this week and have them shipped out promptly after. Photos of course will be posted up to show their progress.

I've also got some new owls started up (different colour scheme), which I hope to have finished soon, so please look forward to seeing them in the shop soon.

Aside from still working on individual orders to get them all shipped out, as well as some new wholesale orders that I've been working on, I cannot take in any more custom orders. I've still got a ton of work to catch up on, and with the addition of school into my already busy schedule, I'm finding myself quite, well, busy. Overwhelmed might seem like a more appropriate way to describe things.

Although I am still happy to take orders for anything listed in my etsy shop, as far as custom orders are concerned, I'm afraid that I cannot take in any more requests for the time being. By custom orders, I'm referring to the ones which I would have to design and make from scratch, and I really do not have the time to work on any additional ones at the moment.

Once my schedule has cleared up a bit, I will happily accept any new custom order requests that people may send in.

Thank you for your continued patience. I'm hoping to have more stuff shipped out this week, including a pair of wedding cake toppers! More photos to come, so stay tuned.

QR codes and some new additions to the blog

Aside from the obvious layout change, I've added a few new things to the blog. Get to know a little bit more about my online shop and how it all started in the about section. I have also added a new FAQ section in hopes of answering some of your most burning questions. Additionally, you might have noticed a couple of barcode images off in the side bar. I've recently become quite obsessed with my barcode scanning application which I had downloaded onto my phone. Call me crazy, but there's something really fun about being able to scan a bunch of different barcodes with my cellphones built-in camera, and instantly accessing the information that is embedded within those barcodes, in my cellphones mobile browser.

The application, ShopSavvy by Big in Japan, works on both Android and iPhone, and allows the user to scan different barcodes with their phones built-in camera, in order to gather additional information about any given product (e.g. price; where to buy). When it works, it's absolutely fantastic! I found that it was surprisingly accurate for some of my Japanese products (eye drops, sunscreen, pens, etc.), and somewhat accurate with more local products.

With the addition of another application, Share by QRCode, ShopSavvy becomes even more awesome (for me at least). Share by QRCode (for Android) let me create my own QR codes for this blog, as well as for my lookbook. If you scan the first QR code that you see off in the side bar, it will load my shops lookbook into your cellphones browser. Awesome right? I thought it was a really great way to share/gather information really quickly! I liked the idea so much, that I added the code on my lookbooks page as well--it can be found when you click the "view more info" link. I guess I'm a big fan of barcode scanning applications now.

Anyways, I know this post was a little different from the usual, but since it still related to the shop, I thought that I should share my thoughts about this new obsession of mine. It's time for me to get back to work (or possibly sleep, considering I have yet to do so). For now, I will leave you with this quick illustration that I had done in my little sketchbook.

My good friend Janet and I had once talked about doing at least one thing each day that would make us happy. For me, drawing has always been one of those things. I don't think that I'm the best at it, but I've always enjoyed it, and want to improve. So here's something that I quickly drew a few weeks ago before heading off to bed.

Various updates and a little bit about my day

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I've been super busy working on orders this entire week, as well as actively job searching. I think I've been making great progress in my orders, although there is still a lot left to work on. But I think I'm starting to get faster at finishing off some things as I make more and more of my characters into toys. My sister has also been of great help when it comes to crocheting some things as well, and I'm really thankful that she was so enthusiastic to help out when she has spare time between studying for her biology and chemistry courses.

This weekend I've been busily working on my wholesale order for Hootsuite which I feel is long overdue. My apologies. I really wanted to have these finished a lot sooner, but between numerous individual orders that I had to work on, progress on my Hootsuite order was virtually nonexistant. However, I told myself that I will definitely try to finish them off this week. I've been working on them non stop on Friday, as well as Saturday afternoon (after a quick visit to the yarn store for some essentials). It's Sunday morning as I'm typing this (before I head off to bed... and yes, it's past 5am as I'm typing), and I'm planning on working on it for the rest of today as well. But I've also got to squeeze in a couple of individual orders in between all these owls that I'm making because those have to be shipped out asap as well!

What a hectic schedule, but in the end it's all worth it! I love seeing everything get completed and shipping them off to my customers! You know I'm really thankful to all of you. You've all been super patient with your orders, since I literally have a lot on my plate and usually only have 2 working hands (sometimes 4 when my sister is able to participate in the production process). So I'm really thankful to all of you who have been and continue to be really patient with your orders.

So to demonstrate a bit of the craziness that I've been going through with completing my Hootsuite order, here is my little progress report. I'm actually a bit further ahead than what these photos show (newer photos have yet to be uploaded). I will post more photos when I have time, but I'm really excited to have these all finished. I think once all of the photos are posted up, it will have a bigger impact.

As of right now, they have their wings (photo to be posted) and need their faces sewn on, so I hope to have them finished by the end of this week.

In the meantime, I still have another wholesale order to finish, as well as a new one to start working on, PLUS all of your individual orders as well! I'll really need to budget my time so that I can complete both wholesale orders and individual orders at the same time, so that neither have to wait super long to receive their items.

Don't forget to stop by our lookbook to see updated photos of some of your favourite characters! I'm getting around to actually updating the photos in my shop as well, although the photo uploading service on Etsy is really bothering me, since the photos I upload on there turn out looking really desaturated, which is a pain to have to re-edit. So please do check out my lookbook (aka. my mini catalogue) for better quality photos!

In other news, one of my friends is leaving for Australia later today! He's going for an entire year! I'm happy I was able to see him on Wednesday, but a little disappointed at myself for being unable to attend his going away party on Friday. I just had too much work to do and wasn't feeling to well that day.

Oh, and one more quick note:
From now on packages will only be mailed out on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (since it's difficult to get out to the post office during the rest of the week), and order status will be updated at least once a week.

So, I've been working on something a bit new for the shop, and I've been having a lot of fun making it. It's a lookbook featuring the characters that I've made for my shop! I'm still in the process of putting it together, but it'll have updated photos of what my characters look like, as well as quick product information and pricing. I think it'll come in useful for those of you interested in wholesale or custom orders, since everything will be in one neat and organized place. Please check it out when you have a chance! General Updates

Hey Everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates on my blog. I've been kept quite busy with finishing up your orders, as well as preparing for the beginning of a new school year, and job searching. Aside from some personal matters, it's been quite hectic around here, but I'm pulling through. I've also taken the time to show my sister how to make some of my characters, since she really wanted to help out. So she's been helping me catch up on some orders and I think she's doing a really great job! She picked up on everything pretty fast, so hopefully this will mean getting out more orders sooner.

Thanks again for being super patient as always. I'll be shipping out additional orders later this week (pictured above) as well as next week so keep an eye out for yours. I'm trying to send them out in the order that they were received in, but I know some people needed theirs a lot sooner, so I've had to shift some things around in order to do so. Again, I'm terribly sorry about the delay, but I really appreciate just how patient you all are when it comes to receiving your orders. You know I'm working extra hard on completing them for you and I'm enjoying making each one as well.

On SOA and introducing Momo

A big thank you to Seamstress of Avalon for taking the time to feature some of my characters in her blog ^^ It made me really happy to read her comments about my little characters, and I'm really happy that she likes them ^_^ I hope that my cute little characters will be able to bring some happiness to different people around the world ^^ although I know I've been behind in completing orders, but I'm getting there! Thanks again, and definitely do stop by Ginger's blog to see which characters of mine she featured!

On a side note, I got a new hamster yesterday (: Hamsters are really cute little animals, and each one has a different personality. This is my third hamster . I named her 'Momo' but my sister likes to call her Momotoshi^^ (my dad really wanted us to name her 'hippo' since I think he liked seeing the hippos over at the zoo, but I really didn't want to give her that name. My previous hamsters were called Kazu, and Keiko. Some of you might remember blogging about them before^^.

Other cute animals that I saw in the pet store yesterday included a guinea pig, and a hedgehog! The guinea pigs were adorable! There was one that I thought was extremely cute, and I wanted to take it home with me, but I don't have a big enough 'house' for it. Maybe one day I'll have a guinea pig as a pet. They look like giant hamsters haha, and their lifespan is longer too. The hedgehogs were very cute too, from what I could see (they were sleeping inside a giant tube thing so it was a little hard to see it).

Momo seems to be quite calm, although she's still adjusting to her new environment. She gets really jumpy when she's scared, and looks unsure at times. She's really quite the runner and jumper though, so picking her up and trying to hold her is really quite impossible right now, but I'm sure in the near future she'll feel more comfortable in her new home, and then we'll be able to let her run around for a little outside of her house inside one of those exercise balls ^^

I'm still thinking about upgrading her house to a bigger one. Although it's a bit expensive (double the price of the one I currently have), but I think she'd like it more since she'd have more space to walk around and explore. Also, the tubes that I use for my current hamster house can easily be used with the larger version as well... so she could pretty much be living in a hamster mansion hahaha. We'll see though. I still have to go back to another pet store to check out the price, because I forgot how much it costs.

Hi Everyone!
Sorry that I haven't been blogging lately. I've been going through a bit of a rough time with some things, and needed to take some time off to deal with some personal stuff. But I haven't forgotten about any of you. I'm getting back into the swing of things and working hard to complete your orders. Sometimes when things in life get rough, it feels like it's super hard to concentrate on ones work, and even though you try as best as you can to keep moving forward, sometimes things just don't end up going that way. But I'm still learning. I decided to give myself a much needed break from everything to help clear my mind. There were many things that I really needed to sort out. I wanted to be able to work on your orders with a clear mind, and I think now that I've had a much needed break I'll be able to do so, and will be much more productive.

That being said, I'm terribly sorry for the delay this is causing for some of you to receive your order, but I hope you know that I will be putting in much love and hard work into making your oddly cute characters the best that they can be (:

The weather here in Toronto has been really humid lately. Last night I really could not manage to fall asleep at all. I was still tossing and turning in my bed at 4 in the morning, before I finally decided to move over to the living room and sleep on the couch. I'm glad I did, because our living room was much cooler compared to my bedroom, which was extremely humid and stuffy.

I hope the weather hasn't been too bad for everyone else around the world, wherever all of you may be. But if it is, do what I do, and run to the washroom and throw some cold water onto yourself. It'll help make you feel so much better! Or at least, it helps me. Of course, you can always go swimming too! I hope that I'll get a chance to go swimming with some of my friends soon. We're still trying to figure out when would be the best day to meet up. I still need to find more sunscreen (preferably waterproof) so that I can protect myself against the sun when I go outside haha.

Hope all is well! And again, sorry for the delays. Sometimes, life just throws you curve balls and you gotta make the best out of a bad situation~

Today is my mom's birthday ^_^
My sister and I are planning on doing something nice for her today. She's in charge of getting the birthday card, and I'm in charge of getting the birthday present. I'm planning on getting her some flowers because my mom loves plants and wishes that we had our own garden. I hope she'll like what we've picked out (: She took the day off work today, so it's kind of hard to plan her a surprise when she's around hahaha. I should go out to get her present now, while she's out with my dad ^^

In other news, I've just experienced my first earthquake here in Toronto. This city is typically a place where tornados and earthquakes do not hit. But last year (or the year before), we had our first tornado, and today, we've had a 5.5 Magnitude earthquake. I woke up to my bed shaking, thinking it was just my imagination, but soon realized it was my entire room shaking as stuff started rattling against the window. The epicentre is located in Quebec, a bit north of Ottawa, but it was felt all over parts of Ontario and Quebec...even in the US as well~ It was quite an unusual experience...

Behind the scenes: Quick Snapshot

This post is for those of you who may have wondered why your individual orders had taken a bit of time to reach you. I've been meaning to post up a photo of this sooner, but here is a quick snapshot from my cellphone (I'll have a better one uploaded later, which is stored in my camera). I was extremely busy with this wholesale order over the last few months, but I'm super pleased with how everything turned out.

It really lifted up my mood, and I enjoyed reading what she had to say about my shop and my characters, as well as read about the other talented Etsy artists that she had featured on her blog as well. It was also interesting to find out that she's from Toronto as well! The program which she graduated in, was a program that I had almost went into myself, so I felt like I could relate to her a bit more (: It's also a program that one of my friends was in before as well (The York/Sheridan Joint Program for Design). Lost in flight

Oh dear, it seems that my mini hootsuite owly got lost in flight while on a business trip. He lost his way somewhere between San Francisco, New York, Washington, and Japan! If you are located in those areas and see this small owl, please let me know. He's probably scared of being in a new and unfamiliar area, and wants to be back home in Vancouver with his family. If you spot him, please leave me a quick message to let me know, or help spread the word (especially if you live in these locations). Here's hoping that he will be found and safely return home (:

He has a distinctive tag on his back which says "y0omii cute little oddballs" with a little bunny face birth mark (exactly like the one in the image below).

There's only one of his kind (for now), so if you spot him, please let me know :D

Hi everyone, I'm back.
Well, I really didn't go anywhere but I've been extremely busy finishing up my wholesale order (which by my standards, is already late T___T). I had meant to have it finished last week, but it's taking a lot longer than I had expected. However it is almost finished. I just need to sew on the eyes on the monkeys and the mushroom bears (: So Angela, I'll have it out to you asap! I'm planning on shipping it out to you Saturday, May 22, 2010. I'm hoping the post office will be open tomorrow. But if it's not, I'll have to ship it out on Tuesday because of the long weekend since I am pretty sure due to the holiday, it will be closed on Monday.

Since I've been super busy with orders, I haven't had much time to update my blog... but I just wanted to let everyone know who is still waiting for their order (which would be I think 5 people, although 2 of them are really big orders) that I am working on them all. There's only so much one can do at one time with just two hands. It's times like these that I wish some of my toys would come to life and help me out a bit with putting everything together hahaha.

I've also got some exciting news, and that is that I've also got an order to make some owls for HootSuite :D I'm so excited! But I need to finish up my wholesale order first. So I'll end my blog post here because I really need to finish sewing these! AHHH am I putting too much pressure on myself?

I just wanted to make a quick post to say thank you to both helendesign and WhisperandHush for featuring Max and Daisy in their treasuries! yay! Although they are not in the same treasuries, the fact that two of my yellow bunnies were featured in separate treasuries today still makes me happy! (Okay, well Max was featured on May 1, and Daisy on May 2, BUT I have not slept yet, and so it feels like the same day to me, as I'm writing this at about 2am ^^). New addition: Toki the hedgehog

I've been wanting to make a hedgehog for a long time. I think they're super adorable, although I've never seen one in person (only in photos), but they're too cute! So here is my first version of a small hedgehog. I plan to make different versions sporting different colours. It'll also be available as a cellphone charm/key chain/ornament, so if you are wanting it in any of those options do let me know. There is an additional fee of $1 to convert it into a cellphone charm/keychain/ornament. I'll have photos up a bit later to show you what it would look like.

Toki is the cutest tiny hedgehog that I've ever laid eyes on. He's quite small and compact, which makes it super easy for him to travel around with his friends wherever they go. He often likes to rest beside ones laptop, and usually makes the top of ones desk or bed his home. When travelling, he likes to huddle up in his friend's pocket, where it's dark, quiet, and very comfortable for him to take a nap during a long car ride. He's been known to be quite a cute little helper as well, finding small objects that his friends thought they had lost.

Special Feature: Custom embroidered patch on the bottom. Max 2 lines (8 characters per line). If no message is left upon checkout detailing what you'd like embroidered, then the name "Toki" will be embroidered instead

The hedgehog photographed was originally made for my friend's project. He plans to send a gift package to a girl group in Korea, known as 2NE1, along with a boy group known as BigBang. This hedgehog was one of many other presents that we are planning on giving to them (since they have a pet hedgehog named 또치 (Ddochii) ^^). That being said, the hedgehog you order may slightly differ from the one photographed, but they'll still be extremely cute and adorable!

Cherry Blossoms

My friends and I went out today to see the cherry blossoms in HP. It was my first time going there, but it was beautiful. There were so many people there too, so I didn't really take any sort of landscape shots. Most of my photos were of the cherry blossoms, and some other flowers (: It was a fun experience, but I still have a lot to learn about how to use my own camera. Hopefully we'll have more outings like today (: The weather was gorgeous by the way (although a little bit on the chilly side).

New Favourites on Etsy.

So today I was wandering about the shops on Etsy and stumbled upon two very adorable shops that I've fallen in love with (: Both shop owners agreed to let me write a blog post about them so here I go with my NFOEs (new favourites on Etsy).

First up we have rlfreshwater's shop called "MISO GIRLS".

The first thing that caught my attention about Rhonda's shop was that she makes kokeshi dolls!. I absolutely adore kokeshi dolls, although I do not own any myself (but I would love to!). Ever since discovering the wonderful world of kokeshi dolls, I've wanted to collect some, or at least try to make some (one day I will try!). I really love the way that Rhonda makes these dolls. They're very cute, and wonderfully detailed. Nice and simple designs, with flattering colours, and a smart play on words! Some of the names of her dolls include: "Miso Shy (pictured above), Miso Sassy, Miso Sweet, and Miso Lucky." I think my favourite out of the bunch would be Miso Lucky and Miso Sassy (photos below).

All of her dolls are beautifully handcrafted. She even offers a blank kokeshi doll for anyone (like me) who is interested in trying to create their own. I will definitely have to revisit her shop in the future to not only pick up a blank kokeshi, but to purchase one of her pieces as well since I think they are super lovely, and she is such a talented artist. I can't wait to see what she makes next (:

Another wonderfully talented artist that caught my eye is dancingintherains. I don't know what it is, but I'm drawn towards illustrators. They always seem to fascinate me. Maybe it's because it's something that I wished I had pursued myself (but didn't). So I secretly hope that one day I would be able to draw as well as these artists. Gwen's shop drew me in with the images of her plush kittys (I'm a big cat lover), but I was delightfully surprised to see some of her cellphone cases which feature her own hand-drawn illustrations (of kittys of course!).

Just take one look at her adorable illustration of this extremely cute kitty staring up at the fishies. Doesn't it make you want to say "awwww how cute!". You can't deny how adorable her illustrations are. Each cellphone case she makes has a unique drawing featured on the front, each of which displays a different kitty in various scenarios and poses. The one in the photo above is definitely one of my favourites! But I love all of her other ones just as much!

If you don't need another cellphone case, but love her drawings, she also offers mini kitty ornaments which feature more unique illustrations (all of which are hand drawn onto the fabric itself). I'm definitely tempted to grab one of these for myself (probably a lot sooner than I think) and will definitely be back at her shop in the near future!

y0omii ♥'s littleoddforest

Today marks the arrival of my MBWC! It's here! It finally came :D I'm so super excited hehehe. My much anticipated Mushroombrella Wrist-Clutch of Forest Print's "littleoddforest" arrived today! I had been quite super impatient with our postal service because they had not made any updates about the current location of my bag, except that it was in my country. So I really had no idea when to expect its arrival (although I was going to be deeply sad if it had not come in by next week). Now all my worries have been washed away (well, pertaining to my order that is), since it finally arrived today! Horray! The day I celebrate my 4 year anniversary with the boyfriend is the same day that I received my lovely order :D So I was doubly happy than normal haha~

The clutch itself was way better than I thought it would be. Lynda was absolutely right that I would love this one! Thank you Lynda ♥. The quality is fantastic; colours are vibrant; it's a tad smaller than I expected, BUT I'm SO happy that it is because I was expecting it to be a lot bigger and was wishing for it to be a bit smaller (haha), SO for me it is the perfect size! The patterned fabric is very lovely and quite soft as well. I find that the hidden snap closure to be a lovely touch, and the inner pocket is quite useful too. I put in the little pack of tissues that she had given me as well (which fits in very nicely hahaha, and was something that I need since I'm working off a cold which is almost gone by the way ^^).

All in all, I'm extremely happy with this purchase, and I highly recommend that you visit her shop! Lynda still has a very similar clutch in stock (in the colour fawn), so if you're interested, do head on over here to check it out! If I ever get a chance to travel to Singapore, I'm definitely going to be visiting Lynda in her forest to say hello, and thank her for the wonderful forest inspired goodies that she makes, because each one of her pieces make me smile (: So like I promised her, I'm going to now spam the rest of this blog post, with some photos that I took of my mushroombrella wrist-clutch (which is in the colour mint). So I have been planning on featuring items from other shops that I truly adore, but I didn't know how to go about it, or if it should be a weekly versus monthly thing, or just sporadic. The Mushroombrella Wrist-Clutch by LittleOddForest has become one of my newest favourites (as I'm sure Lynda knows!). I am absolutely in love with this clutch! Lynda is super talented and very creative. I just love how she combines very simple colours, accenting with unique fabric patterns, to give her functional pieces a very unique style.

My very first purchase from LOF was a custom passport sleeve, which I really enjoyed using while on my trip to Korea. It kept everything very neat and organized! She was also super accommodating, and took the time to go through different fabric patterns and suggestions with me until we came up with a great combination.

My newest obsession from her shop is the mushroombrella wrist-clutch. It's very unique compared to the other bags that I own, and the fact that its handmade, makes it feel a little more special too ^^. I have actually purchased one for myself from Lynda's online shop, and it should be arriving very soon (sometime within this week I hope)! The version I bought is extremely similar to the one photographed, but mine is in the colour "mint" which has already sold out (I had bought the last one!). I'm so excited to get mine, and I promised her that I'd picture spam my blog once I do.

I love all of Lynda's creations in her very wonderfully fun shop. Since most of her items are limited edition pieces, and each one is handmade, a lot of her stuff sells out fast! So if you see something you like, I suggest grabbing it while you can, because if you hesitate, you may not be able to get it (which almost happened to me hahaha). If you don't believe me, I was eyeing her Summer Bird Bangle-Clutch (Busy Buzzy Bees -- orange) when she had first listed it, and within what seemed like 1 or 2 days, it has already SOLD OUT!

So as her critter fairy guardian that wants to live in her shop (as discussed through our silly Twitter conversation), you can tell that I definitely love all of the forest inspired goodies that are in her shop, and I will definitely be back for some more goodies in the future (: If you haven't checked out her shop yet, I highly suggest that you do, as I'm sure you'll be able to find something that you'll absolutely love!

Springtime allergies.

Dear allergies, please go away~
It's that time of year again! It's the time when the season changes and I get attacked by allergies. Allergies are one of the most annoying things that I have to face. I was feeling a little funny yesterday...eyes were a little itchy, noes was feeling a little stuffy and itchy as well, and my throat was feeling a little dry. I thought it would turn out to be like the other days, where after some rest, I'd be feeling back to my normal self. I thought it was just a temporary allergic reaction to some dust. But when I woke up today, my throat was extremely sore and my nose was super stuffed. Ahhh, then the realization hit that seasonal allergies have struck me again! It's definitely not something that I enjoy having each season, especially when regular allergy medicine doesn't seem to help much. I can only hope that they will disappear soon.

Here's something that I quickly made for lunch today. It's rolled up like an egg roll, but is much like a vegetable pancake ^_^ It's quite yummy, and you can probably make it with a bunch of different vegetables (but I only used lettuce and red bell pepper in mine). I've also made a version of this before like an onion pancake ^^ haha. Just thought that I'd quickly share some photos :)

Photowalk around Campus.

The other day I had a mini reunion with a few of my friends and we had decided to have a mini photowalk around campus. We ended up taking some photos outside of the Royal Ontario Museum (the ROM), as well as around the downtown campus of our university. I haven't gotten to see Anny since last year before she left for Taiwan, and the last time that I saw Janet was when I had visited her in Korea (: So it was really great seeing them again! Our friend Tina stopped by afterwards while we were out eating cake at a cafe type place, and it was really nice seeing her again as well, since we calculated that it's been around 3 years since we last saw each other, which is really quite long! I wish that I had taken more photos, but I think I got some neat shots. Hopefully there will be another day to go on a photowalk. The weather has been really great here lately, and so I do want to get outdoors more! Anyways, here are some of the photos I took. I really wish I had a macro lens for the flower photos haha. It would make it a whole lot easier to post photos and display them on my blog...

Aside from the photowalk, this week has been super busy and flew by too quickly. I didn't get as much finished as I had hoped but hopefully this weekend will be super productive. Hey everyone, I'd like you to meet Rocco. He's the latest edition to my shop and is available made to order (:

Rocco is a super happy, fun loving bunny, who just happens to be blue and white. He's very easy going, calm, and enjoys every moment of life. One thing that Rocco loves to do on sunny days is lay down on the hill top, while he stares up at the sky to look at all of the beautiful cloud shaped animals that he can spot. Sometimes we have a mini competition to see who can spot the most animal shaped clouds, but he usually wins (: He's super observant!

I'll be making a long awaited postal run on monday for two of my customers who had ordered Mushroom bears a while back. Sorry for the delay on your mushroom bears~ They'll be united with you soon :) I've been having really bad allergies lately around my eyes. They've become so itchy during certain times throughout the day, which has been driving me crazy. Eye drops helped for a bit, but the irritation usually stops after I have slept. Wholesale and Fun Stamps.

Ever wonder what my toys look like while they're in the process of being made? I've been meaning to post up a photo for a while now, so here it is! That right there will be pandas, owls, bunnys, and monkeys! It's a little hard to imagine right now, since in that photograph they are not filled with stuffing, nor do they have their limbs, but they will soon have them. Those are being made as part of my wholesale order. My wholesale order also includes some mushroom bears, but they are not in that photograph.

Also, the other day my new stamps arrived! It's so exciting. I love these stamps :D I had ordered these stamps from NothingElegant's Etsy Shop. You can order your own set here. The set includes two stamps of your choice. I chose designs ns018 and ns029, but there are many other cute designs to choose from.

You get to customize the 3 lines of text, and the text for both stamps can be different. I decided to put my shop name and URL on one, and my name and shop and blog URL on the other. The set also came with 10 blank business cards in a variety of colours, as well as an ink pad (randomly chosen: I got black).

I was excited to start using these stamps and wanted to test them out. However when I tried to open the ink pad... the lid didn't want to come off. I had removed the plastic wrap that encased the ink pad, and when I attempted to take the lid off so that I can use the ink, I realized that I couldn't get the lid off. It seems as if it was glued on? I'm not really sure, but after multiple tries, I kind of gave up, and resorted to using one of my other ink pads (in pink).

Since I was using pink ink, I couldn't stamp it on the lilac coloured front of the blank business card, so I used the reverse white coloured side to test out the stamp.

All in all, I'm really happy with these stamps. They look really cute, and I'm so excited to use them again. I just wish that I can get the lid off of the black ink so that I can use it :)

It's almost been a year since I've opened up my Etsy shop. I originally joined Etsy as a buyer, but made the decision to get my stuff out there and become a seller as well. My first year on Etsy has been quite exciting as sales are slowly starting to pick up. I've been enjoying every minute of it, so as a thank you, I'll be having an Etsyversary Sale starting on Monday, March 15, 2010, until the end of March. Hello, Spike the Tortoise

So a while back, one of my customers had shown me a drawing of his which was an illustration of a tortoise named Spike. He had told me about how he likes turtles/tortoises. At the time, I was playing around with polymer modelling clay, and had offered to make him a 3D sculpture of his tortoise character out of modelling clay. It was a lot of fun, and challenging at the same time. I tried my best to make it look similar to his drawing as well as give it my own sort of characteristics :)

His polymer clay tortoise arrived at his house today and he sent me a few photos :D I'm so happy that he arrived safely ^^ I had wrapped him up in tissue paper and placed him inside an extra "Moo Card" box that I had laying around (their plastic version), and had wrapped it up in Kraft Paper like a present. I don't think I took any photos of it when it was wrapped but I wish that I had done so, because I liked how I had wrapped it up. Anyways check out some of the photos that he took of Spike ^___^

Hello everyone.
Order statuses have been updated as of Today (they're also frequently updated even when I do not update the front page so please do check out that section if you have ordered something from me recently).

I've been busy working on my wholesale order as well as any other orders that I've received inside (and outside of) Etsy.
I hope you are all enjoying your week! It's almost Friday :D Tomorrow is my boyfriend's birthday :) I've been trying to learn how to bake cookies to give to him as a present. Yesterday was my first time making cookies from scratch. I think I rolled the dough out to thin and I put them on the tray a little too close together so they ended up spreading out a lot! My poor deformed cookies! Today I'm having another go at it, and hopefully they will turn out better. At least the batch that I made last night tasted yummy! But I wish that they looked pretty too.. hehe. Hopefully I'll have some photos posted on here a bit later.

I've been going through my Etsy shop trying to fix up all of the listings to make them more uniform.
I've also decided that I'll add the option to buy hard copies of my stationary letter note sets, for anyone who is interested.

I'm thinking about posting some photos up later when I have time, of the wholesale order that I'm working on. I've got most of their bodies knitted up... they just need to be stuffed and have the rest of their ears and arms and feet made. I feel like I am making good progress, but I could have finished a lot more this week if it wasn't so busy around here! haha. Sometimes I could really use more hours in the day~

Yesterday I went out with my dad to the supermarket to buy groceries. On our walk back home, we were graced with the presence of a beautiful falcon! He swooped down and landed on the light post, to take a rest I assume, after such a long flight! I was kicking myself for not having my camera with me that day as that was the first time I've seen a falcon in the city (not including at the zoo)! He was just absolutely beautiful! I kept waving to him (I'm assuming that it's a him) and saying 'hi' hehe.

As I sit here writing this, I'm waiting for my lunch to finish cooking. I'm having a late lunch (considering it's already past 4pm) again, but it's going to be yummy so I'm looking forward to it!

So I went out to the yarn store today to look for some yarn that I need for my wholesale order as well as another order that was placed recently, and to my surprise the yarn store that I usually go to did not have any of the yarn that I need! How frustrating. So as soon as I came home, I placed an order for the yarns that I needed. I hope that they will ship it out to me in a timely manner.

The good thing about this particular yarn company is that it's main shop is located in a city that is somewhat close to my own (a few hours away), so once they ship out my order, I'll receive it within 2 days. The thing that somewhat annoys me about this particular place is that sometimes it takes them one week before they even bother to ship out my order, and so I am left waiting. I really wish that the store in my location actually carried all of the yarns that they have in their main shop, because I would rather buy it in person, than online, since I hate having to pay for the shipping cost (especially when their shipping costs increases depending on the total cost of your order).

So here I sit, patiently waiting. My miniature cow, along with my funny looking sumo wrestler character cup are urging me to keep moo-ving forward. So don't think that I am sitting around doing nothing, as I am still working on other parts of my wholesale order with the yarns that I currently do have in stock :) It's just that the shop didn't carry any of the organic cotton yarns that I am needing for some of my toys :( So I have to wait. Hopefully it'll arrive early next week (keeping my fingers crossed).

Also it's been brought to my attention that some of the orders that I had recently shipped out are taking a bit of time to reach their final destinations. I do not know what is up with the mail lately but I'm really hoping that everyone will safely receive their packages. I usually ship items out in batches so if it hasn't arrived for one person but has for another, then I would expect that it'll arrive some time soon for those who are still left waiting. Hopefully all will be fine and your items will arrive. I've experienced this one time myself when it took about 2 weeks until I received something that I had ordered from the US (when it usually takes only 1 week). Hopefully we'll see a happy ending to all of this waiting. But if you are concerned about your order, please feel free to contact me and I'll be happy to help out as much as I can to the best of my ability.

I hope you are all having a lovely week and keeping up with the Olympics. It's really such an exciting time, and I've been enjoying getting to watch some of the events :) I'd like to watch a bit more but I think I'll head off to rest for a bit considering I have not slept yet ... (yes I've been awake for over 24 hours again), not to mention I'm feeling quite motion sick from that bus ride back home...

There's a curious cute couple of penguins that have been wandering about the garden. It seems that they are on a date! Oh what's this? Mister King Penguin is carrying a heart shaped object! I wonder if it is a present for the misses! How excited she must be to receive a lovely gift before valentines day :)

This cute couple will be made available to order, and will soon be listed in my Etsy Shop. It makes for a great valentines gift, but is also a nice present during any time of the year to show the one you love that you are thinking about them :)

I've updated the order status section, so you can view when your order will be shipped. I had to push back some of the dates by one or two days because I seem to keep running out of time each day to complete all of the ones that I had planned on completing. I really hate how time seems to fly by so quickly and before you know it, it's a brand new day.

At night I'm usually trying to keep myself awake in order to finish as much as I can. In the day, I still try to keep myself awake in order to get as much as I can finished, but I usually end up passing out around the afternoon, and waking up around dinner time. Because I'm shifting in and out of regular sleeping and waking hours, I think it's definitely taking a tole on my health. I'm finding lately that I've become a lot more tired than usual during the day when I am awake, and at night during certain hours I feel very unfocused because of fatigue.

I'm not trying to make any excuses for myself, as I'm already pushing myself as much as I can to complete these orders on time. But I do promise that they will get out to you. I'm super, super sorry for the delay and any inconvenience this might have caused you. Please know that I'm working extremely hard on finishing these as fast as I can.

My goal is to have all of my orders completed by the end of this week. Most of your orders will be shipped out between Monday and Wednesday of this week (so between Feb. 8 - 10).

Polymer Clay Fun with Penguins.

King penguins are fun to make. I've been having a lot of fun sculpting them out of polymer modelling clay, as well as painting them. I've got some new ones that I still need to take photos of, but for now, have a look at some of my very first King Penguins! The gardening King Penguin isn't available yet, but I've already sold the Valentine King Penguin to one of my previous customers. There is still one more left in my Etsy shop, so definitely check it out when you get a chance. It's been fun getting to play with polymer modelling clay! I'm really glad I decided to buy myself a box to play with and create :D It's definitely a good break away from all the knitting and crocheting that I have to do, and it is a lot easier on the hands. Painting is pretty relaxing (when I don't mess up haha). The whole experience itself has been quite enjoyable.

I'm definitely thinking of extending my line of cute oddballs to include stuff created with polymer modelling clay. They'll be listed under the section 'Oddly Cute' in my Etsy Shop, so definitely keep an eye out for that in the near future.

The Gardening King Penguin will soon be available in my shop, once I have enough time to make another batch (as the one in the photo, is for me to keep... hehe).

Aside from making these penguins and finishing up orders, I've been revamping my blog to make it more user friendly and look a lot nicer :) I hope that it'll make it a lot easier to navigate through my blog :)

Experiencing a bit of a delay.

I had placed an order last week for some more yarn supplies as I had run low and the place where I usually buy my yarn from currently didn't have any in stock. As such, I'm still waiting for this supply of yarn to arrive at my address. It's ordered from within the same city as I reside in so it should arrive soon, but I'm currently still waiting on it's arrival, so until then, some orders may be delayed a little bit. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. I'm trying my best to finish everything in a timely manner, but until that order arrives at my doorstep, I feel like there's nothing I can do except wait.

I'm back from Korea :) I loved it there.
I will try to update tomorrow. Still feeling jet lagged. Still need to finish unpacking and organizing everything. Trying to eat my dinner right now, but I feel like I will pass out at any moment as I didn't get much sleep on the plane, even though it was a 13 hr flight with a 3 hr stop over in Narita.

Side note--to the people who try to order from my shop without paying:
Under certain circumstances I can understand why someone might not pay for their order right away. Maybe you are new and need time to set up your PayPal account in order to transfer funds and purchase your item. But sometimes I come across a few people who order from my shop, and deliberately do not pay for their items. I can understand if you forgot. But if I email you back right after you have placed your order and still have not received any payment from your OR any REPLY from you to let me know that you need more time to pay (or that you really just don't plan on paying)... I'd appreciate it if you would LET ME KNOW. It's not that hard to reply back to a simple email is it? I don't like chasing these people down to try to get a reply back... I don't think that I should have to, and I don't like doing it either because then I feel like I'm coming across in a bad way. I'm not trying to be negative, but all I'm asking for is a simple reply -- 'sorry I forgot' or 'I will need a bit more time' or 'I've changed my mind and would like to cancel' -- it takes 2 minutes to reply back to my email. Yet when I see that you have not yet paid and I send you that email as a reminder, I don't get a reply back.

From now on what I'm going to do is this:
- I'll still send out the email if I notice that I have not received your payment yet. So I'll send it out as a reminder.
- If I do not hear back from you within 3 days, I'm going to cancel your order (so that I do not get charged the extra fees that incur when a transaction takes place

Lesson: Immediate payment is greatly appreciated! BUT if you need more time that is understandable, just PLEASE do let me know. Thank you!

A big shoutout goes to Jenny N. of JennyNDesign over on Etsy for featuring my winter mushroom bear, among other Christmas inspired goodies from numerous Etsy shops. I love her picks of Joy since Christmas has such a big joyful and fun-filled theme. I'm definitely looking forward to spending Christmas and New Years this year in another country and numerous cities (Seoul, Daegu, Busan, and back to Seoul). I'm sure that my friends and I will have a lot of fun getting to spend the holidays with each other :) Thanks again Jenny! Definitely stop by her shop and her blog for more goodies! A little bit of change.

I'm up early again. My current sleeping habits have adjusted to a different time zone (such as that in Korea lol), even though I am still in Toronto -- meaning I'm awake when I should be sleeping, and sleeping when I should be awake, haha. I guess I am more productive during the night time/early morning.

Tuesday was an extremely productive day for me. Usually I am only able to complete 1 order in 1 day. Sometimes it might take longer. But on Tuesday, I was able to finish 3 different orders (4 toys in total: 1 owl, 1 marching polar bear, and 2 custom small momo bears). I'm also half way finished the mushroom bears. I'm really proud of myself for being able to catch up on these orders fairly quickly after being held back a bit while finishing up and shipping out my wholesale orders 2 weeks ago.

I hope that this level of productivity will continue today, although I can already feel fatigue setting in. But it's okay because I am having fun with these orders and I find that they are turning out better and better and I'm getting faster at making each one. I really love the way that I currently make my owls and question myself as to why I hadn't thought of doing it that way a lot sooner. I think the finished result looks a whole lot better compared to my original. I really should post some photos of how my owl has evolved from the very first version of Kai, to his current version. I think I will definitely stick with his current version because it makes him look a lot cuter but he doesn't lose one bit of his character :). I am also really tempted to do a line of mushroom bears. I really love their size -- I love how they sit comfortably in my hand, and how they can sit on their own. I hope I'll have time.

Order status will be updated again very soon. Most orders will ship out tomorrow (Thursday December 3, 2009) or on Friday (December 4, 2009) -- in order to minimize the number of trips to the post office.

My most recent orders will also ship out very soon as I'm sure I'll have a chance to finish them this week :D So please do check back as I'm continually updating the status of each order as I make further progress with them.

Once these are finished I'll finally get a chance to work on my special order for Alex! I'm really excited to work on it and I hope it'll turn out great!
